Somerley House: There are places where you become quieter even upon arrival. The driveway winds through vast parkland, ancient trees cast long shadows on the meadows, and at some point a bright Georgian mansion appears behind a gentle hill—so naturally set in the landscape as if it had always been there. A wedding at Somerley House is exactly that: a celebration in a place that breathes history without being heavy-handed, and that, despite its grandeur, feels like home.

Anyone dreaming of a wedding in England often thinks of stately homes, rose gardens, long summer evenings, and that very special blend of elegance and laid-back charm that one finds at British country houses. Somerley House on the border between Hampshire and Dorset combines all of that and offers something rare: the choice between a classic celebration at the house and a enchanted forest wedding under centuries-old Douglas firs.

In this detailed location guide I'll take you to the property. I'll tell you what Somerley House What makes this special is the variety of options for the wedding ceremony, dinner, and celebration, what you as a couple from Germany, Austria, or Switzerland should consider when planning a wedding in England, and why this location is so extraordinary for photography and film, especially for analog work.

Somerley House: A private estate on the edge of the New Forest

A home since 1828

Somerley is not a hotel or a traditional event venue; it is a family residence that is inhabited by its owners. Since 1828 it has been owned by the same family, Today, Lord and Lady Normanton live here. This continuity is felt everywhere. The house has been cared for, inhabited, and passed down through generations, and that is precisely why it lacks anything sterile. There are books that have been read, carpets that have been walked on by generations, and rooms that owe their atmosphere not to an interior designer but to time.

For couples, this means something very beautiful: you are not celebrating in a setting, but are guests for a day in a real house with real history. This authenticity is reflected in the atmosphere of your wedding, and it also translates into the photos.

7,000 Acres of Park and Forest

The estate covers around 7,000 acres of parkland and forest and is located right on the edge of the New Forest, one of the most beautiful natural areas in southern England. Wide meadows, ancient solitary trees, forest paths and open countryside characterize the landscape. Those who marry here not only have a house but also have a whole landscape at their disposal that changes constantly with the light of day.

Georgian interiors and the Picture Gallery

The centerpiece of the house is the Picture Gallery, a long, impressive room with high windows and a collection of paintings that make the space feel more like something between a salon and a museum, just much warmer and livelier. Somerley House has preserved its original Georgian interiors, and it is these rooms that make a wedding here so distinctive. Clear proportions, high ceilings, fine details, and that soft light that comes through the large skylight windows.

Set for The Crown, Bridgerton and Red, White & Royal Blue

The fact that Somerley has a special charm has also been recognized by major film and television productions. Scenes from The Crown and Bridgerton, two of the most successful Netflix series ever, were filmed here, as well as Amazon’s film Red, White & Royal Blue. For those who have ever thought that they would like to get married exactly like this while watching these productions, this is the opportunity to do so. And for your guests, it’s a beautiful story that they can take home with them.

Wedding at Somerley House: Wedding ceremony, dinner and celebration at the house

The classic version of a wedding at Somerley House takes place within and around the manor house. The property describes itself with a beautiful contrast: Georgian grandeur, but with an inviting, warm atmosphere. That’s exactly how it feels.

Wedding ceremony in the Picture Gallery

A wedding ceremony in the Picture Gallery has a certain solemnity and at the same time a sense of intimacy. Your guests sit between the paintings, the light falls from the side through the high windows, and the long space gives the moment when you walk forward a wonderful drama. Especially in England, where the weather can have its own plans even in summer, a wedding ceremony in a house is not only the weatherproof option, but a real option with its own character.

Wedding ceremony outdoors

Those who prefer to say “yes” under the open sky can have the ceremony in the garden. The view opens out over the parkland, the facade of the house forms the backdrop, and you will experience your most important moment with the wind, the birdsong and the scent of an English summer day. My tip: Always plan for an outdoor wedding in advance and decide on the day of the wedding. Somerley makes this very easy.

Wedding Breakfast at the Picture Gallery

In England, the wedding dinner is traditionally called the Wedding Breakfast, no matter what time it takes place. At Somerley House, it takes place in the Picture Gallery, which seats up to 140 guests. Long tables under paintings, candlelight at dusk, and speeches in a room that has already hosted so many family celebrations: this is an atmosphere that cannot be replicated.

Evening celebration for up to 200 guests

The evening event can accommodate up to 200 guests in the house. This gives you the opportunity to celebrate in a more intimate setting during the day and to bring in additional friends in the evening – a very common concept in England that can also be exciting for German couples.

Fest tent for larger weddings

For larger wedding parties, a marquee can be set up on the grounds. This allows up to 200 guests for the wedding breakfast and up to 250 guests for the evening celebration. A marquee in the English park has its own charm: open sides on warm evenings, a view of the landscape, and a smooth transition between inside and out.

Overnight stay on the property

A major advantage for a destination wedding is the opportunity to, to spend the night directly on site. The main house has nine double bedrooms. In addition, there are three other accommodations on the estate: the Ellingham Farmhouse for up to eight people, Park Cottage for up to seven people, and The Old Salmon Hut, a two-person accommodation that is perfect as a retreat for the newlyweds.

For you, this means: family and closest friends can all live together on the property, Getting Ready takes place in the historic rooms, and no one has to worry about taxis in the evening. This makes a huge difference especially for weddings with guests arriving from Germany. From a wedding day becomes a wedding weekend, with shared breakfasts, walks through the park and that special feeling of having a place to be for a few days all to yourself.

Woodland wedding in the Somerley Woodlands

Anyone who thinks about a wedding in England that includes not only manor houses but also forests, string lights, and an open-air festival will be delighted. Woodlands of Somerley They are the second large wedding venue on the property and have a completely different atmosphere than the house.

Under old Douglas trees

The Woodlands are a clearing amidst tall, ancient Douglas fir trees. The trees line the path like a natural avenue that leads directly to the Wooden Folly. The light filters through the crowns, the ground is soft, and the air smells of resin and summer. It is a place where one immediately understands why so many couples dream of a forest wedding.

Wedding ceremony at the Wooden Folly

The Wooden Folly is a wooden pavilion in the middle of the forest and licensed for civil ceremonies according to English law. You can therefore not only celebrate a free ceremony here, but under certain conditions also get legally married. Up to 200 guests have a seat at the ceremony. When you walk forward together between the tall trees and your guests sit to the left and right between the trees, a picture is created that you will not forget.

Your own tent, your own partners: What Ground Hire means

The Woodlands are rented on a so-called ground-hire basis. This means that you rent the space and design it yourself. From the list of partners with whom the property works, you choose your tent, whether it be a classic marquee, tipi, or stretch tent, as well as your catering and bar.

This freedom is a great gift for many couples. You can design your wedding exactly the way it suits you: a rustic celebration in a tipi with long wooden tables, an elegant ceremony in a white marquee, or a relaxed summer party under a stretch tent that lets you see into the forest. This requires a bit more planning than at home, and especially for a wedding abroad, an experienced local planner is worth hiring.

Celebrating until midnight

Celebrations continue in the Woodlands until midnight. This is common practice in England for venues of this type, providing a beautiful backdrop to the evening. Many couples then plan a small gathering in their accommodations afterwards, allowing the evening to conclude in a very natural way.

Season and availability

The Woodlands are available to book from May to September, both weekends and weekdays. A wedding on a weekday can be a lovely option if you are planning to have a smaller, travel-friendly group and would like to give your guests a few extra days of vacation in Southern England.

Wedding in England: What couples from Germany should know

A wedding in England is a wonderful choice for couples from the German-speaking world. The journey is short, the culture familiar and at the same time different enough to make the whole thing feel like a real journey. Nevertheless, there are a few things you should keep in mind when planning it.

Arriving in Hampshire

Somerley is located in Ringwood in Hampshire, in the south of England near the coast. The Bournemouth airport is very close by, and Southampton and the London airports are also easily accessible. From London, you can travel by car in about two hours, depending on traffic. You can easily combine this trip with a few days in London, the Jurassic Coast in Dorset or the New Forest for your guests.

A practical tip: In England, traffic drives on the left. If you want to spare your guests stress, arrange for a shuttle from the airport or train station or compile a list of transportation services.

Civilly at home, free in England

Many couples from Germany, Austria and Switzerland choose to get married at home and have a civil ceremony in England. There is a simple reason for this: legal marriage in England is associated with formalities for foreign couples. As a rule, the marriage must be registered in advance in person at a competent registry office, and there are deadlines and residency requirements. Anyone who wishes to take this route should obtain information early on at the venue and with the competent authorities.

A civil wedding, on the other hand, has many advantages. You are free to choose the language, the ceremony and the design, you can bring a wedding officiant from your home country and customize the ceremony completely according to your wishes. A civil wedding at the Wooden Folly or in the Picture Gallery feels just as solemn as a civil wedding.

The best time of year for a wedding in England

The classic wedding season in England runs from May to September. During this time, the days are long; in June it doesn’t get dark until late, and nature shows its most abundant side. For Woodlands, this period is predetermined anyway.

English weather is known for its unpredictability, and to be honest, that’s part of it. A brief shower in the afternoon, followed by golden light over wet meadows: These moments are often the most beautiful of the day. With a good plan B in place, you don’t have to worry about it. Umbrellas in a color that matches your wedding is, by the way, a nice idea that looks wonderful in photos.

Planning, service providers and schedule

For a wedding at Somerley House, she works with partners who recommend the property, especially for tents, catering, and the bar at the Woodlands. This is a great advantage, because these service providers know the procedures, access roads, and the specific features of the grounds. For couples planning from abroad, I recommend additionally booking a Wedding planner, who has experience with international couples and can coordinate them on site.

Book early. Exclusive properties of this type are often fully booked long in advance on Saturdays during the high season. Those who are flexible can often find still available beautiful dates during the week or at the edge of the season.

Wedding photographer England: Somerley House through the camera

As a wedding photographer and filmmaker, I place particular emphasis on three things when working at a location: light, space, and the ability to accompany people freely and unencumbered. Somerley House meets all three in a way that is rare. If you are looking for a wedding photographer in England, it is worth paying attention to how someone handles a place like this.

Light and spaces in the house

Georgian houses are a gift to photography. The high window sills let soft, lateral light into the rooms, shaping the faces without being harsh. In the Picture Gallery, the length of the room creates a wonderful depth, and the paintings, the wood, and the fabrics give the paintings a calm, almost painterly colorfulness.

The getting ready in the historic rooms is particularly beautiful. A dress hanging on the window, light falling through an old wooden floor, a moment between mother and daughter in front of a mirror that has probably seen many such moments: these are the images that tell the most later on.

Golden Hour in the Park and in the Forest

Outside, the property changes with every hour. In the late afternoon and during the golden hour, a warm, deep light settles over the meadows, and the old trees cast long shadows. For couple photos, there’s no need for elaborate poses. A leisurely walk through the meadows or between the trees is enough to create images that feel natural and authentic.

In the Woodlands, the light is different again. It is filtered through the crowns of the Douglas firs, sometimes in a concentrated way, sometimes as soft scattered light, creating an almost fairytale atmosphere. When the light chains come on in the evening and the last rays of sunshine disappear between the branches, images full of atmosphere emerge.

Documentary instead of staged

A place like Somerley needs little staging. The stories happen naturally: in the laughter at the Wedding Breakfast, in the tears at a speech, in the child who runs between the tables, in the grandfather who dances for the first time in years. My work is documentary and editorial. I accompany, observe, and record what really happens, with an eye for composition and light, but without interrupting the day.

Analog on 35mm film and Super 8

Somerley House is a place where analog photography and film feel completely at home. The colors of an English summer, the muted green of the meadows, the warm tones of the interiors, and the soft light through Georgian windows give 35mm film a depth and texture that is almost impossible to achieve digitally. Analog images have something timeless about them that fits perfectly with a house that has been in the same family for almost two hundred years.

Super 8 adds another layer to this. The moving images, slightly flickering, warm and imperfect, are reminiscent of family films from decades past and tell your wedding story in a way that feels like a memory. For many couples, this film becomes the most emotional part of their wedding documentary.

What makes a good wedding photographer in England

When looking for a wedding photographer for England, don’t just look at beautiful portfolios. Ask about how they handle varying lighting conditions, how much experience they have with destination weddings, and whether the style of photography really suits you. A wedding abroad brings its own challenges, and it’s hugely helpful if your photographer speaks your language, understands your family, and works seamlessly with the local English service providers at the same time.

Conclusion: Why a wedding at Somerley House is so special

A wedding at Somerley House is more than just a celebration in a beautiful location. It is the opportunity to be part of a community for a few days, one that has been inhabited and loved by the same family for almost two centuries. It is this feeling of celebrating not in a venue but in a real home that makes the difference.

Two worlds in one place

What sets Somerley apart from many other wedding venues in England is the choice between two completely different worlds. On the one hand, the Georgian manor house with its Picture Gallery, elegant rooms and an atmosphere that evokes grand family celebrations of bygone times. On the other hand, the Woodlands, where you get married under ancient Douglas firs at the Wooden Folly and can create your celebration in complete freedom. Whether classic-elegant or nature-loving and relaxed, Somerley provides the framework for both.

Ideal for a wedding in England with guests from abroad

For couples from Germany, Austria and Switzerland, Somerley is a particularly good choice for a wedding in England. Getting there is straightforward, the accommodations on the estate make the wedding day a shared weekend, and the surroundings with the New Forest, the coast and the proximity to London invite your guests to extend their stay. Those who plan ahead, inform themselves about the formalities and rely on experienced service providers will experience a wedding that feels easy, even though it takes place abroad.

A place that tells stories

For me as a wedding photographer in England, Somerley is a place where images almost come naturally. The soft light in the Georgian rooms, the vastness of the park in the golden hour, the filtered light between the trees in the Woodlands and the light trails in the evening create a backdrop that carries your story without overwhelming it. Just like on 35mm film and Super 8, a wedding here gets a timelessness that perfectly suits the story of the house.

For whom Somerley House is the right choice

Somerley House is perfect for couples who love elegance but don’t want to feel constrained. For couples who value atmosphere and history, who want their guests to have a whole weekend to themselves, and who appreciate nature and architecture equally. And for everyone who secretly thought while watching Bridgerton or The Crown: This is exactly how I want to celebrate.

Wedding planners for your wedding at Somerley House

A wedding at Somerley House is a dream, but it is also a project with many participants, many decisions, and a certain distance. Especially if you are planning from Germany, Austria, or Switzerland, an experienced wedding planner is often the key to ensuring that your wedding in England does not feel like organization but rather like anticipation. That is why I want to dedicate a separate section to this topic.

Why a wedding planner is so valuable at a wedding in England

At a wedding in your own hometown, you know the routes, the service providers, and the customs. At a wedding in England, many things are similar and yet different. Procedures, terminology, schedules, legal issues, and not least the language make planning from afar more demanding. A wedding planner in England knows the regional service providers, knows which caterers, florists, and tent rental companies work reliably, and can resolve matters on site that would take weeks to complete via email from Germany.

Above all, a good wedding planner takes the burden off you of having to think about everything at the same time. They make the decisions, and they make sure they are implemented. This gives you the freedom to truly enjoy your wedding, rather than coordinating delivery times or answering questions from service providers on the day of the event itself.

Wedding at Somerley House: When a planner is particularly useful

How much support you need depends heavily on how you would like to get married at Somerley House. At a wedding at the house with a ceremony and a wedding breakfast in the Picture Gallery, the property already provides a clear framework, and many elements go well with the recommended partners.

Things are quite different when it comes to a forest wedding in the Somerley Woodlands. Since the Woodlands are rented on a ground-hire basis, you basically have to put together your wedding here from scratch. Whether it’s a tent or a tipi, furniture, lighting, toilets, catering, bar, music, decoration, and the entire schedule need to be planned, booked, and coordinated. This is exactly where a wedding planner shows their full value. They keep track of setup and takedown, coordinate deliveries on site, and ensure that everything looks exactly how you imagined it would.

Even for a larger wedding with a marquee in the park, with many international guests, or for an entire wedding weekend with a welcome dinner the night before and a brunch the day after, a planner is a great relief.

Find the right wedding planner for your wedding in England

When searching for a wedding planner for England, it’s worth paying special attention to a few things. Experience with international couples is important, because a destination wedding is different from a wedding with just local guests. Ask the planner if she has ever conducted weddings at English estates or even at Somerley House, and if she knows the recommended service providers of the estate. On the Somerley website you’ll find a list of partners with whom the estate works together. That’s a good starting point.

Chemistry is just as important. Your wedding planner will often be with you for an entire year or more, and you should feel comfortable with them. Pay attention to whether they listen to you, understand your ideas, or prefer to follow their own style, and whether communication works well even across distance. Some couples consciously choose a German-speaking planner who organizes destination weddings in England, others a local English planner with extensive local knowledge. Both can work wonderfully.

Full service, partial planning or coordination on the wedding day

Not every couple needs full-service planning. Many wedding planners offer different packages. With a full-service plan, the planner takes care of everything from location search to choosing the vendors, to the final guest who leaves the venue on the evening of the wedding. With a partial plan, she books most of the work herself and gets help with certain areas, such as design, logistics, and coordinating with the local vendors.

A wedding coordination on the day itself, often called day-of-coordination, is the most streamlined option. The planner takes over your finished planning in the weeks before the wedding, checks the schedule, coordinates with all the involved parties, and on the wedding day ensures that everything runs smoothly. For a wedding at Somerley House with a clear framework in place, this may be quite enough. For a forest wedding at the Woodlands, I recommend a more comprehensive accompaniment.

How wedding planners and wedding photographers work together

A wedding is a team effort, and the collaboration between the wedding planner and the wedding photographer is particularly close. Together they create the schedule for the day, and that has a big impact on what kind of photos can be created. When does the most beautiful light fall into the Picture Gallery? When does the Golden Hour in the park begin? How much time remains for couple photos without your guests having to wait long? And when is it dark enough in the Woodlands that the light chains can fully unfold their effect?

As a wedding photographer in England, I work closely with the planner before every wedding. I share my thoughts on the lighting, the flow of events, and the locations on the property that are ideal for certain moments. Especially with analog photography on 35mm film and Super 8 footage, a well-thought-out schedule is essential because the lighting plays an even bigger role here. When the planner and photographer work well together, they don’t notice it on the wedding day except that everything seems effortless and they have plenty of time to simply be there.

When you should hire a wedding planner

When choosing a wedding planner, book them as early as possible, ideally immediately after or even before booking your venue. Many planners also help with the decision between a house and a venue, with the viewing tour of the property and the question of which date in England suits your wedding best. Experienced wedding planners are often booked up well in advance during the peak season from May to September, just like coveted locations like Somerley House.

My tip: Book your venue, your planner, and your wedding photographer first. These three form the foundation of your wedding, and everything else can be built on them. If you are still looking for a suitable wedding planner for your wedding at Somerley House, feel free to contact me. Through my work at Destination Weddings, I know many planners and am happy to share my experiences with you.

Conclusion: Wedding at Somerley House

A wedding at Somerley House is more than just a celebration in a beautiful setting. It is the opportunity to be part of a property that has been inhabited, cared for and loved by the same family since 1828. It is this feeling of celebrating not in an event venue but in a real home that makes the difference. It is reflected in the spaces, the atmosphere and ultimately in the memories you take home with you.

Two wedding worlds in one place

What Somerley sets apart from many other wedding venues in England is the choice between two completely different worlds. On the one hand is the Georgian manor house with its Picture Gallery, the original interiors, the high windows and an elegance that recalls grand family celebrations of centuries past. Here, you celebrate with up to 140 guests at the Wedding Breakfast and up to 200 guests in the evening, and with a marquee in the park, a larger wedding is also possible.

On the other hand, the Woodlands are a clearing under old Douglas fir trees, at the end of which the Wooden Folly awaits you. Here, you can design your wedding completely freely, with your own tent, your own catering, and a celebration that feels like a long summer evening under the trees. Whether you want to get married in a classic and elegant way or in a more natural and relaxed style, Somerley provides the perfect setting for both. And sometimes, it’s exactly this decision between the house and the forest that is the first moment when you feel how your wedding should feel.

A wedding in England that feels easy

A wedding in England is a wonderful choice for couples from Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The journey is short, the culture is familiar and at the same time different enough to make your wedding a real journey. Somerley House is particularly well suited for this, because so much can be done directly on the property. Nine double rooms in the main house and three cottages on the estate mean that your family and your closest friends can all stay on site together. The getting ready takes place in historic rooms, no one has to wait for a taxi in the evening, and a single wedding day naturally becomes a joint weekend.

Then there’s the surroundings. The New Forest is right on your doorstep, the coast of Dorset is not far away, and London is easy to connect with by road. For your guests, the wedding will be the perfect opportunity to get to know a piece of southern England, and for you, a celebration that won’t be over in just one day.

Those who plan early to inform themselves about the formalities of a wedding in England in time and rely on experienced service providers will experience a destination wedding that feels easy and relaxed despite the distance. Especially because the peak season is in high demand and Woodlands can only be booked from May to September, it is worth waiting no longer.

A place that tells stories

Some locations are beautiful. Others tell stories. Somerley House belongs to the second category. Every room, every tree and every view over the park has something in it that goes beyond the moment. The fact that productions such as The Crown, Bridgerton and Red, White & Royal Blue were filmed here is no surprise to anyone who has once walked through the Picture Gallery or stood in the Douglasian trees in the evening.

For your wedding, this means: You need little decoration to create an atmosphere and little staging to create special memories. The venue is there for you. You can focus entirely on what really matters: you, your loved ones and this one day.

Somerley House through the eyes of a wedding photographer in England

As a wedding photographer and filmmaker, I always look at the light first when I’m shooting a location. And the light in Somerley is extraordinary. In the morning it falls softly through the high Georgian window frames and settles on old wooden floors, fabrics and faces. It’s the perfect light for a relaxed getting ready, for the quiet moments before everything begins, for the mother’s gaze as she sees her daughter for the first time in the dress, or for the father’s last time tying his son’s tie.

In the afternoon, the Picture Gallery transforms into a space of profound depth, where words, hugs, and tears become an almost painterly backdrop. In the golden hour, warm light falls over the meadows, the old trees cast long shadows, and a shared walk through the park is enough to create pairs of photos that feel natural and real. In the Woodlands, the light is filtered through the crowns of the Douglas firs, and when the lights are turned on in the evening, a mood is created that is hardly better captured in photographs.

Anyone looking for a wedding photographer in England should pay close attention to the following: How does this person deal with this light, with changeable weather, with large spaces, and with quiet moments? And most importantly, does this person understand you, your family, and your language?

Analog on 35mm film and Super 8 at Somerley House

Somerley House is a place where analog photography and film feel right at home. The colors of an English summer, the muted green of the meadows, the warm tones of the historic rooms, and the soft window light give 35mm film a depth, a texture, and a timelessness that perfectly fit a house that has carried family history for almost two hundred years. Analog images don’t feel like snapshots, but like memories that you can take in your hand.

Super 8 adds another dimension to this. The slightly flickering, warm, and wonderfully imperfect shots are reminiscent of family films from decades past. A Super 8 film of your wedding at Somerley House, with the walk to the Wooden Folly, the dance under the trees, or the laughter at the wedding breakfast, becomes the most emotional part of your wedding documentation for many couples. It is the film that you watch with your children twenty years later and where you immediately know how that day felt.

For whom a wedding at Somerley House is the right choice

Somerley House is perfect for couples who love elegance but don’t want to compromise. For couples who value atmosphere, history, and authenticity instead of glamour and perfection. For everyone who wants to have their loved ones around for an entire weekend, who appreciate nature and architecture equally, and who want a wedding that feels like life, not a schedule.

It’s the perfect place for couples who envision long summer evenings, old trees, candlelight in historic spaces, and a celebration where no one looks at the clock on their wedding day in England. And honestly, it’s also the perfect place for anyone who secretly thought while watching Bridgerton that they wanted to celebrate exactly like that.

Your wedding in England with Love & Other Stories

Are you planning your wedding at Somerley House or at another special location in England? Then I would be very happy to hear from you.

With Love & Other Stories, I accompany couples to extraordinary places throughout Europe, from England to Italy and Switzerland to Austria, Mallorca and Greece. My work is documentary and editorial. That means that I don’t stage your day, but accompany it. I am there when the real moments happen, from the nervous laughter before the wedding, the first glance, the speech that makes everyone cry, and the dance that lasts much longer than planned. I pay attention to light, composition and details, but never in a way that makes you feel watched or that has to interrupt your own day.

Upon request, I also photograph analog on 35mm film and capture your wedding on Super 8. Many of my couples choose this combination because they want something more than just complete digital images; they want something lasting, timeless, with images and film shots that have a warmth and depth that cannot be created afterwards.

As a photographer from Germany who regularly accompanies destination weddings, I know the special processes of a wedding abroad. I speak your language, understand your family and traditions, and at the same time work naturally with planners, caterers, and local service providers. You can rely on me to prepare for your day, get to know the location in advance, and plan the lighting so that you don’t have to worry about anything on your wedding day.

Tell me your story

Every wedding is different, and that’s the beauty of it. Maybe you’re planning a big celebration at the Picture Gallery with family from several countries. Maybe you’re dreaming of a small, wild forest wedding in the Woodlands with your loved ones and music until midnight. Maybe you don’t even know exactly what your day should look like yet, just that it should feel like you.

Write to me about who you are, how you met, what is important to you and what you dream about. Tell me about your date, your location and your ideas. I’d also be happy to answer any questions you might have about your wedding in England and tell you how I would support you throughout your day.

I look forward to getting to know your story, to continuing to write it with you, and to creating images and films together that will remain, for you, your family, and for everyone who someday wants to know what that one day at Somerley House felt like.
